Case management
Having cancer can mean having many procedures, seeing several doctors, filling out paperwork and dealing with day-to-day stresses. Mercy Regional Cancer Center’s case manager, Michelle Leverence, helps patients feel less stressful and more hopeful by:
- Identifying their needs and strengths
- Providing practical and emotional support
- Helping them and their families find community resources and services
- Helping them process their thoughts and feelings
Michelle earned her Master of Science degree in counseling education at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater. She completed her internship at Mercy Options Behavioral Health Services in Janesville, WI. She is certified by the National Board for Certified Counselors and is pursuing her Professional Counselor and Substance Abuse Counselor state licenses.
